Activator Methods®

The Activator Method is one of the most widely-researched chiropractic techniques and the only instrument adjusting technique with clinical trials to support its efficacy. It is used as an alternative to manual manipulation of the spine or joints.
The activator is a small handheld spring-loaded instrument which delivers a small impulse to the spine. It gives off no more than 0.3 J of kinetic energy in a 3-millisecond pulse. The aim is to produce enough force to move the vertebrae but not enough to cause injury.
Because it’s many times faster than adjustments delivered by hand, the body rarely tightens to resist, making adjustments comfortable and effective.
